Pocket Radar and SportsBoard Partner to Deliver Enhanced Radar Solution
SportsBoard and Pocket Radar are taking radar measurement to the next level. The companies announced a partnership at the American Baseball Coaches Association Convention, offering a bundled solution for coaches to measure AND capture speed data pertaining to throwing, pitching and batted-ball exit speeds.
Now baseball and softball coaches from professional level down to club will be able to buy the Ball Coach and SportsBoard from either company and use both solutions to measure and digitally capture and trend athletes’ improvement in these measurables over time.
Coaches at Premier Girls Fastpitch softball recruiting combines began using the Ball Coach radar and SportsBoard together last fall, placing the Ball Coach radar gun behind a net to capture batted-ball exit speeds off a tee and then manually entering the data into the SportsBoard iPad app.
“Before SportsBoard, data from the Ball Coach radar was typically hand written on paper with limited ability to re-purpose it in a way that was useful to the coach over time,” states Steve Goody, Co-founder and CEO of Pocket Radar. “Now with SportsBoard, we’re able to offer a more complete solution that provides the coach a digital clipboard, SportsBoard, to capture the data on an iPad or iPhone.”
