No, a PLUS subscription on an Apple device does not transfer to an Android device, or vice-versa. Subscriptions are managed independently through each platform’s app store (Apple App Store for iOS and Google Play Store for Android). If you would like the PLUS features on both an Apple device and an Android device, you will need separate subscriptions for each platform.

GameChanger designed their integration with Pocket Radar for iOS devices only and velocities are only sent to the scorekeeper, not the person streaming. For the integration to work with Android, you will need an Apple device to score. If that's available to you, upgrade to Pocket Radar PLUS on your Android phone. You will use this device to run the Sports App and capture speeds on game day. The PLUS subscription is only supported on the phone (or tablet) that you buy the subscription on or other Google devices that use the same Google account.

Below is a quick check list to ensure your integration with GameChanger is successful.

1) Pocket Radar: If you are using the iPhone (or iPad) that made the PLUS purchase, use this device is collect speeds in PR and this same device to score in GC. If you are out of Bluetooth range, or if you bought PLUS on an Android, use the phone that made the PLUS purchase to capture speeds, and an Apple device to score. For more detailed instructions, see our Pocket Radar/GameChanger Guide and our “Alternative Set-Up” on page 6 to make the integration work. 

2) Pocket Radar: From the Welcome screen, tap on “Connect to GameChanger” and confirm GameChanger is selected.

3) Pocket Radar: Start a session in Pocket Radar. Visually check that the radar is collecting speeds (which you can see on both the radar AND in the Sports App). To generate a test reading, scratch the back of the radar with your nails, or gently bump the device, anything to trigger a velocity reading.

IF YES to the above:

1) GameChanger: Open the GC app and start your game (you are the scorekeeper not the person streaming).

2) GameChanger: Make sure “Pitch Velocity Tracking” is toggled on (in GC select Menu > Settings > Pitch Velocity Tracking > On).

3) GameChanger: Once the game begins, velocities will appear in the lower corner of the ballfield avatar. As you proceed with scoring, velocities will integrate with the GC overlay and viewers of the stream will see the pitch speed in the video scoreboard and play-by-play.

GameChanger and Pocket Radar no longer require matching emails. However, if you wish to have them match in each app, you can do so in the Pocket Radar Sports App. Open the app and from the Welcome screen select More > Account > Change Email and follow the prompts to complete the process. The password to log into the account will remain the same.

The purchase is tied to the device you made the purchase on, not the email address you use to log into Pocket Radar. As long as you haven’t switched phones/devices, the subscription will work regardless of the email you use to log into Pocket Radar.

If you are in the dugout or lose your connection between your scoring device and your radar, here is an alternative set-up. If you are also streaming, it requires three devices.

Device 1 – RADAR (Android or Apple) – This device made the PR PLUS purchase. Dedicate this device to collecting speeds in the Pocket Radar Sports App and keep this device close to the radar to maintain Bluetooth connection. Streaming on this device is not recommended, as speeds sent to the GC scorekeeper may be significantly delayed by your wireless provider. Start a session in the Sports App for velocities to be sent to the GC scorekeeper who is using an Apple device. For velocities to display in the live stream, you must be a staff admin/member for the integration to flow properly. 

Device 2 - SCORE (Apple only) – Only the iOS version of GC integrates with Pocket Radar. Dedicate this device to score the game. It does not need the PR Sports App or PLUS subscription installed. The benefit of using 3 devices is that the scoring device is no longer restricted by Bluetooth range and can be used in the dugout or elsewhere.

Device 3 - STREAM (Apple or Android) – stream the game via GameChanger on this device. GC allows up to two devices to log in with the same email (or sign in with another approved GameChanger staff email address). This device does not need the PR Sports App or PLUS subscription installed.
