The Minnetonka High School Hockey Team

We gave Pocket Radar Classic model to the Minnetonka High School Hockey Team recently to try out in the ring. Coach Brian Urick gave it glowing reviews. Here’s what he said:

“The Pocket Radar is a great tool to use at the ice rink for competition and/or monitoring off season improvement.

Minnetonka High School Hockey has used the Pocket Radar at our annual skills competition to determine our teams hardest shot and fastest skater.  Its small size makes it great for coaches to carry around their neck.  No need to haul a tripod and extensions cords out on the ice like we have done in the past.

The Pocket Radar can be used in different ways other than competition amongst players.  We have used the tool to determine which players need to work on their shots over the summer months.  As coaches we can easily measure with the Pocket Radar where they rank amongst teammates so that the players understand that they need to improve.

When the players return from their summer programs our coaching staff tests the player’s shot again to compare it to last year’s data to plot improvement.  We can easily tell which players put in the effort necessary to improve in the offseason.
Minnetonka Hockey is truly impressed with the accuracy of the data.  Our coaching staff was a little weary when we first received our Pocket Radar.

However, we have conceded and agreed that the “read outs” are accurate.  We even tested it on a moving car!!!

I would recommend the Pocket Radar to any youth, high school, junior or college hockey team.”
