Great for disc golf

I’ve got this setup in my garage behind a 10x15 net. I use it to work on my disc golf form for both backhand and forehand. It’s been working great, and is very helpful in isolating the raw power you put into the disc. Based on the release angles, a disc thrown with the same power might go a much different distance than another disc thrown with the exact same amount of power. Having the radar tell me the speed takes all the release angle and distance concerns away and just lets me focus on power.

Great Tool. More tech info would be helpful

The Smart Coach couldn’t be easier to use and seems to be quite accurate. Having observed other talent evaluators using it in the field, I think additional technical information would help obtain the best results. For example, the instructions state that the user needs to be be “in line” with the pitch to get an accurate reading but that some degree of angle is “ok.” I’ve seen folks using it from 0 degrees (good) to 30 degrees + (very bad) which will result in significantly different sports. It’s not a matter of technique or quality, it’s just science. It would be great to see this spelled out in the instructions so that users—especially those who are using it at paid events—can deliver consistent results from player-to-player and event-to-event.
