This past weekend in beautiful Palm Springs, CA was the first annual Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, held in honor of one of the most legendary figures in softball history. She was both an incredible human being and ambassador to the sport, and her many years of service will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
The innovative National Sports Clinics founder would have had a great time watching the young women compete on the fields over the weekend, and enjoy imparting her valuable knowledge and wisdom of the game to the future leaders of the sport.
Pocket Radar™ was able to participate in the tournament, acting as one of the field sponsors. The Pocket Radar Des Moines field was part of four other fields at the site, playing host to teams from across the country. Many of the top teams from around the nation swarmed to Palm Springs, including Arizona, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida, UCLA, LSU, Nebraska, Ohio State, Syracuse, Virginia, Stanford, Missouri, Washington, and many more.
